HART is always accepting donations of food, litter, new bedding, and cleaning and office supplies to help us care for our kitty friends. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter or shipped to us.

Other Ways to Donate

HART is always accepting donations of food, litter, new bedding, and cleaning and office supplies to help us care for our kitty friends. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter or shipped to us. 

  • Instead of tossing your empty printer and toner cartridges in the trash and hurting the environment, bring them to HART and we will turn them into cash for the shelter. ALL brands are accepted, but the original manufacturer's label must still be on the cartridge and it must not have been previously recycled. Cartridges of most sizes are welcome. We can no longer accept the larger laser printer toner cartridges due to storage constraints at our shelter. Please call our shelter at 207-829-4116 or email us at info@hartofme.org with questions.

  • HART will turn your Maine returnable bottles and cans into cash for the shelter. Pick up a CLYNK bag at the shelter or from one of our off-site events, fill the bag with returnables, and drop off at your local Hannaford Supermarket. We also accept returnables not in CLYNK bags dropped off at the shelter - we can take care of the rest.​

    Finally, If you are willing to purchase the Clynk bags, we are happy to mail Clynk labels to you directly! Please email us at info@hartofme.org or call us at the shelter at 207-829-4116 and provide us with your name, mailing address and the number of labels you would like. We are happy to provide these in groups of 5.

We couldn't do this without your help.

HART receives no public funding and is supported entirely by individual donors, foundations, and businesses, not to mention our committed group of volunteers. And, as you can imagine, the cost of providing long-term care for these cats adds up. 

Therefore, we are calling on our community to help defray the costs required to ensure cats that come to HART are provided with the care they need to live long lives and bring joy to those families who will eventually welcome them into their homes.
